Foodbank vouchers
Our foodbank works using a voucher referral system.
If you need help, a food bank can provide an emergency food parcel containing three days’ nutritionally balanced food. Parcels may also include other essentials like toiletries.
In order to get help from a food bank you will need to be referred with a food voucher. The voucher is then exchanged at the food bank for a food parcel.
Our Foodbank works with a range of local agencies who can refer people to get a food parcel, such as housing associations, GPs, schools, the City Council and advice charities. If you have an existing link a local agency then you should contact them to ask whether they can issue you a food voucher.
If you do not have an existing link with a local agency you will need to call Help Through Hardship on 0808 208 2138. They can issue you a food voucher over the phone, as well as giving you advice and support if you are struggling to afford essentials like food, heating and toiletries.
Once you have been issued with a voucher, you can exchange this for an emergency food parcel containing three days’ nutritionally balanced food at our foodbank centre.
If you are a local agency and would like the ability to issue vouchers for our Foodbank, then please get in touch with us for more information.
