We are Moving!

9th April 2018

Our Foodbank Centre is relocating

We are currently based at ReSource Central, 121 Camden Street, in Hockley, and in May we are moving our centre to Birmingham City Church (BCC), Parade, B1 3QQ (less than 10 minute walk from Camden Street).  New location map

To allow us to move, we are temporarily closing our Foodbank from Friday 20th April.  Our final foodbank distribution shift at Camden Street will be Wednesday 18th April.  We will reopen on Friday 8th June 10am – 1.30pm at Birmingham City Church.

We currently open on a Wednesday; however from 8th June we will be open on a Tuesday NOT a Wednesday at the new opening time of 9.30am – 11.30am, at Birmingham City Church.  Our Friday opening times will remain the same at our new location.

Please be aware that whilst we closed we are unable to provide emergency food parcels (from 20th April – 7th June).   Please be advised that there are alternative Trussell Trust foodbanks open on a Wednesday and a Friday:

Wednesdays

Aston & Nechells (St Margaret’s Church, Ward End)

Quinton & Oldbury (St Boniface Church, Quinton)

Sparkhill (St John’s Sparkhill or Yardley Wood Baptist Church)

Smethwick (Raglan Road Christian Church)

Fridays

Aston & Nechells (Salvation Army, Aston)

B30 Cotteridge

Great Barr

Quinton & Oldbury (Castle Road, Oldbury)

Sparkhill (School Road, Hall Green)

Smethwick (Holy Trinity Church)

Please use the website www.trusselltrust.org/get-help/find-a-foodbank to look up Foodbank centre details.  Our Birmingham Central foodbank vouchers can be used at any other Birmingham Trussell Trust foodbank.

The reason for this temporary closure is to give us time to move our food stock and resources, to complete the building work necessary to create the storage needed, to retrain our volunteers, and to refresh our working systems to fit the new premises.

We are pleased to say that Birmingham City Church has a much larger Café space for our clients.  We hope this will create a more comfortable environment for those who attend.

If you have a Birmingham Central Foodbank voucher and you need to use it whilst we are closed, our partner Trussell Trust foodbanks will accept it a as a referral.

Donations and Deliveries

Whilst we are closed, and once we reopen, we can accept donations and deliveries Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm,  at Birmingham City Church, Parade, B1 3QQ (car park on Helena Street, B1 2RQ)  Unfortunately from April 18th we are no longer able to accept donations at 121 Camden Street.

If you need anymore information please get in touch on 0121 236 2997 or [email protected]

Thank you,

Charlotte Neville (BC Foodbank Project Manager)
